With this new Garmin eTrex Venture HC GPS Receiver, the reviewer no longer feels any sort of disappointment. Everything that was flawed on the original models have now been perfected and the buyer could not be more impressed. Many times had the user been standing in wide open spaces cursing at his old eTrex but now, no matter what his position is, the eTrex always finds him with the high-sensitivity receiver. The reviewer strongly recommends this GPS and said that you will not feel disappointed at all.

Another reviewer said that this Garmin eTrex Venture HC GPS Receiver, is indeed wonderful but does have a warning for potential buyers who are using Mac computers. The reviewer said that though there is Mac caching software, it does not work at all. However, you can use the USB cable and click “Send to Garmin”, this will automatically load waypoints. He also had a problem the first time he tried to update it. The process blanked out his GPS completely and he had to use a Windows PC to get it up and going again.
